What Wii did on our snowday

 

Well, today was Emma’s first snow day.  She was supposed to have school today but because of the awful conditions, it got cancelled.  Last night, it started down pouring.  Crazy wind and rain just pouring down.  That lasted for a few hours and then it dropped about 30 degrees.  I think it was either in the teens or single digits.  So it was a quick freeze.  Then it started snowing.  We didn’t get a ton of snow but the wind chills were well below zero and the road conditions were trecherous and most things were cancelled.  My friend even told me that her daycare got cancelled.  How does that happen?

So we decided to invite our neighbor Sandy down with her 4 boys to play Wii.  Emma, being a Wii fanatic

Bummin Out

 

Well, the day we knew was comin is here.  Dan left this morning for Indiana.  He has a big job down there (a theater) and will be working there during the week and home on weekends for the next couple of months.  Thats the original plan at least.  I’ve learned not to expect the original plan to really happen.  In theory, it really doesn’t sound too terrible.  But in actuality, it sucks.

This summer, we had the good fortune of going to Sandy’s cottage.  Sandy is not only my neighbor but a good friend of mine and used to watch the kids for me when I drove school bus so the kids are very familiar with her and her kids.  Emma and Gerrit were sooo excited to go when I told them about it.  She invited us to come for a few days up there and it was a blast.  We hung out in the sun, on the beach, by the dock and on the boat.  It was a definetely tiring but it was fun!!!!  Looking outside at all the snow makes me really miss it.

How Snow Angels Are Done

I did it!  I finally mastered uploading a video.  So watch out now!  The world is my oyster and I will be videotaping it.  Is it even called videotaping anymore?

Anyways, here is the kids on that same first day playing in the snow.  I have no idea how they were such snow angel experts but they knew how to do it.  Emma even knew to roll out of it.  Have they secretly been playing in winter wonderlands while I thought they were sleeping soundly in their beds?  Perhaps…

This is my Emma.  She is lovingly referred to as Stink.  I used to call her Tinker Winker Baby Stinker but that obviously was too long to say all the time so it got shortened to Stinker and then to Stink.  I’m sure the first month of therapy will be from that.  We’ll start saving now for it.
