Wow!  I discovered that the awesome song from the Zune commercials is by Rogue Wave and is called Lake Michigan.  Don’t you know what that means?

“You are still alive!”  One of my friends just emailed me that sentence the other day.  I had no idea I had been slacking that much but obviously I have.  I guess it’s been a while since I updated you guys on our goings ons so here we go!  A week’s worth of fun times… 

Book Meme

About a month ago, a friend of mine (Erin) inspired me to cease my reign as the world’s most illiterate person and rejoin the realm of readers.  She is an avid reader and it reminded me that I used to love to read.  Like, really love it.  I can’t say for sure what happened but I fell off the word wagon and I’m climbing back on.  Following her formula, which I thought was just good sense, of reading a non-fiction for every fiction.  Come on brain cells… I know you have some life in you left!

Then I got tagged by a fellow blogger.  I felt honored to be tagged and even though I am incredibly late with this, I didn’t want to flake out on a tag so here we go.  I was tagged from Fighting Windmills.

Happy Birthday Hayden

It was my nephew, Hayden’s birthday party this weekend.  My sister lives about 45min-1hr away from me depending on traffic and weather so we don’t get to see each other as much as we would like.  The kids love playing together and Gerrit has been asking me nonstop if he can go to his cousin’s house again.  Took some pictures to share with y’all.  Don’t let this picture fool you… my kids

Sometimes I think of the most random things and since Dan is in Indiana, I don’t get to torture him with my thoughts and questions.  Guess who gets it instead?  Thats right… You!  Here we go:

Some friends of ours were wonderful enough to invite us to join them in some fun at a cottage this past weekend.  The itinerary was basically to be outside all day long sledding & snowmobiling, hanging out by a fire.  Now, anyone that knows me, knows that I despise cold and can not stand anything having to do with snow.  Winter is something that I often suffer thru rather than enjoy.  But somehow, it sounded fun to me (I think it might have been talk of the wine)…  so we went.

Update to My Bidness…

 

Well, I did call on Thursday and I spoke with the person named on the letter so I knew she was the contact person. The conversation went just like I suspected it would.  I’ll recap for you:

Right before the Christmas break, I got a letter from the Kent County Health Department saying that Emma had an eye exam at school and had failed.  First of all, I was shocked that my daughter had been tested (or examined) without my knowledge and/or consent.  I had no idea that it was going to happen which I think I’m entitled to.
