I’m walking on sunshine

I know I’ve been a slacker this week. Many apologies for that. For some reason, the week at Sandy’s cottage took it’s toll on me and I was exhausted all week long. No matter how much I slept, I still felt tired and when I was awake, I felt cruddy. I believe I have some kind of allergy and yesterday, I broke down and took some Target Allergy medicine. After the Target brand Lactaid fiasco, I am skeptical of their brand of meds but it’s what I had so I took it. Hopefully, I’ll start to feel normal again soon.
In the meantime, I need to share our fantastic week up at Sandy’s cottage. It was a lot of fun and the kids were as tired as me when we left. I clocked it and 9 miles away from the cottage, they were out and slept the whole way home (which was a good 1.5hrs). They needed it and they probably aren’t even caught up yet. We hung out at the beach area everyday for a while. The kids loved that it was pretty shallow and had freedom to go about in the roped off section. Of course they had their arm floaties on.
The first day that we went, there were some other people. One of which was a man & a woman who had (I’m guessing his age now) a 2year old. The kid was in the water and Read the rest of this entry »

Last week Sunday, we went on a family trip to our local zoo. The weather was beautiful for it with sunny skies and a soft breeze. The temperature couldn’t have been more than 76. It was great! Not too hot that the smell (you know the smell I’m talking about) of the zoo stifled the air but warm enough that the kids could stay warm in summer clothes. Perfect.
We don’t have the biggest zoo here but the kids got to see some cool stuff and the grown up kids got to do some cool stuff. Dan, Kevin & Claire (Kevin’s stepdaughter) went on a rope obstacle course. I was taking pictures of them getting their harnesses put on and while taking the picture, I saw a look of extreme discomfort on Kevin’s face. Read the rest of this entry »

Alright, they finally gave me the link to download them. I’ll warn you that they are LOW resolution and so they kind of suck on the computer. Some of the pictures, we look like we are missing teeth or kind of wonky. Anyways, it gives you a general idea. You can let me know if you think we did a good job of not janitorizing ourselves but still matching in a general sense. There’s a ton of pictures and so I’ll just let you browse. We went to the zoo on Sunday with Dan’s family. There are a ton of pictures that I will be posting later but I thought I would start with the lions. They were really cool to watch and were actually playful.

Earlier this summer, the kids were outside playing and I could watch them thru the bathroom window. They were being adorable and it dawned on me that I could tape them without them knowing it for once! I was excited at this new prospect and got the camera. I started taping and only got 3sec of tape before I had to stop. You’ll see why.

With summertime comes hanging out with friends and trips to beaches. Particularly in MI when we only have a couple good months to do any warm weather activities. And so, I’m off again. The kids, dogs & I will be heading up to Sandy’s cottage for the rest of the week.
We were supposed to leave this morning but life happens regardless of how you plan. We restrategized and should be leaving shortly. I’ll make sure I take a lot of fun pictures and videos while we’re there. For those that came late to this blog, I posted about our trip there last year.
Of course, I have not forgotten my duty to entertain on the regular so I have at least one post scheduled to go up each day until my return. Feel free to comment and I’ll respond when I get back. Peace out

This was up in Ludington, Mother’s Day weekend. If you listen hard, you can hear her singing as she spins.
