All Dogs Go To Heaven

Thursday April 9, 2009

My friend, Deb forwarded me this email.  Whether it’s true or not, I found it funny.  I actually have an easier time believing it’s real just because of how often I find people that are ‘religious’ are completely devoid of humor.  As if saving your soul means casting out your funny bone.  Enjoy!

This is literally a ‘church signs’ debate, being played out in a Southern US town, Read the rest of this entry »

Check ya later

Tuesday July 15, 2008

With summertime comes hanging out with friends and trips to beaches.  Particularly in MI when we only have a couple good months to do any warm weather activities.  And so, I’m off again.  The kids, dogs & I will be heading up to Sandy’s cottage for the rest of the week.

We were supposed to leave this morning but life happens regardless of how you plan.  We restrategized and should be leaving shortly.  I’ll make sure I take a lot of fun pictures and videos while we’re there.  For those that came late to this blog, I posted about our trip there last year

Of course, I have not forgotten my duty to entertain on the regular so I have at least one post scheduled to go up each day until my return.  Feel free to comment and I’ll respond when I get back.  Peace out

Party Island

Me & Scout chillaxin at Party Island

On Gun Lake, there is an island called Party Island.  While I highly doubt that many people hang out on the island, it is very popular because it has a sandbar all around it that you can hang out in the water.  It varies in depth but it’s a considerable amount of space all around the island for kids, dogs and people to play in.  We went out there with Deb, her kids Ellie & Sam, Cheri (of course) and her daughter Jamie.  The dogs got to come and went on their first boat ride!  They did great on the way out there but for some reason Scout was spazzing on the way home.  I’m not sure if it was the wind in his ears or what but he started flopping around Read the rest of this entry »

Dog will hunt

Wednesday July 9, 2008

When we first arrived at Cheri’s cottage, the kids and dogs were all excited.  They wanted to go in the water as soon as possible but since I had to unload and unpack everything by myself (Dan was in IN until Tuesday night), I had to be a big meanie and make them wait.  I was proud of them all for how well they contained their excitement and Cheri was dumbfounded at the dogs listening when I told them not to go in the water.  They’ve been beaten trained that jumping in water uninvited is a bad idea and so they were patient even though it must have been torture.  As soon as I could, Read the rest of this entry »

The week of Emma part un

Sunday June 22, 2008

In lieu of Emma’s ever approaching birthday, I decided to dedicate an entire week to her!  This week will be about her life in photos.  I recently found a bunch of pictures and loaded them up into this computer and so I’ll be sharing Disc 1 today.  This is a little bit of what life was like while I was very much pregnant with her and the first couple days of her life.

My Secret

Monday June 16, 2008

My name is Chris and I admit to liking my minivan.  If I’m being completely honest, I actually have to admit that I, uh er, love it.  It rides so nice and is so pretty inside (I’m not ready to admit the outside is pretty yet).  We took the dogs with us for the first time yesterday and I was nervous about them being in there.  I was concerned that they wouldn’t stay back behind the 2nd row seats or that they would scratch the bumper jumping in but they did good.  They tried once or twice each to nose up next to the kids but I corrected them and the rest of the drive they spent either laying down or sitting pretty with their noses in the air smelling.  I love the fact that the floor is low enough that their wet noses can’t reach the back windows (YAAA!) and so they might just stay clean.  Imagine that.

The kids love that they can open and close their own doors for the first time ever.  “Magic” Read the rest of this entry »
