If you build it, they will stay

When we moved into our house 7 years ago, we wanted to put up a privacy fence.  Our neighbors weren’t terrible or anything, we just thought it would be great to have our backyard to ourselves.  The problem came when we started adding up what it would cost.  Dan would put it up himself so we would save on labor but lumber still adds up.  The dollars outweighed our desire and so we lived on without a fence.

7 years later, both of our neighbors have put up their own privacy fences (we won’t take it personally).  So that left just the very back and next to the house for us to install a fence.  Not so bad.  We decided to go ahead and do it.

Dan finished it a couple of weeks ago and it is SO  wonderful!!!  I can’t even begin to describe how much better the quality of our life is for all of us.  The dogs can hang out there unattended for a long period of time and the kids can just go play in the backyard when they want to.  I love it so much!  It’s like getting a huge addition to our house because we have so much more usable space.  So worth every dollar that we spent.  I love looking out the window and hearing the kids playing when they don’t think we’re listening.  They say the funniest things and Gerrit sings the funniest songs when he thinks no one can hear him.  And somehow, it makes our yard look bigger.  Sweet!  Thanks Dan!!!

And your friends love it too! We can come over for bonfires and bring the kid (furry one that is) and not have to rush home to let him out.

I have to say that with a dog, having a fence is a blessing! I remember the days of chaining Ozzy up and having to watch him do his business, untangle him, etc…one of the best things we’ve bought yet for our place!

So when’s the next Bartnick Bonfire?

I don’t recall being invited to a bonfire at your house! LOLOL

Consider yourself invited! And if you don’t show up… YOU are rude 😉 You would love a MI summer Dizzy, minus the humidity.
